here are pictures of my large painting i told you about in this blog post. if you didn't make it out to my show yet there is still time. it's hanging up at the DAC for another couple of weeks. this one actually made me nervous. the kind of nervous that made me want to either cover it up or hide under a teeny tiny rock. i felt so exposed and not necessarily physically. ballet and crows have a personal importance to me and it was scary to share that with everyone. it was also the one piece i didn't think people would relate to, so i was really surprised when i got so much feedback about it. it kind of put me at ease.
i imagine that happens to all of us. we hold on to secret thoughts or ideas that are hard to imagine sharing with people, but just when we shed light on them we realize they aren't embarrassing, shameful, dark, silly, trite, etc... being exposed isn't so bad. opening up can be freeing and motivating. it can even help you make a connection with others that you didn't even expect.
just another way art develops and heals you.
